CEO message
We at Denscombe Corporation have always had a big interest in furthering the professional development of business people everywhere, which is the reason why we have such a strong commitment to business education, both from the educator side and also from point of managing the business schools themselves.
Certainly before arriving in Japan in the mid-1990s, our CEO had a long history of fostering the best in the workplaces that he connected to. After arriving in Japan, given his considerable business and life experiences, it was only natural that he would put these in play as a business/management educator and also professional career development consulting.
A lot of what our CEO has done in Japan has its roots connected to the MBA the admissions process, MBA education itself, and post-MBA career development. Indeed, the global-focused human resource development company he helped create in 1996 – CICOM International, Inc. – had a predecessor company that was focused on MBA admissions consulting, and was one of the biggest firms in Japan focused on this business niche.
So, before moving upstream to provide MBA-like management education, CICOM began life initially as a firm focused on professional development and individual consulting – especially MBA admissions – which provided the cash flow and time necessary to create the sophisticated management programs that are now available at CICOM Brains.
In these early days of CICOM, as the firm’s co-founder and academic director, the CEO of Denscombe Corporation himself each year coached over a hundred qualified applicants individually about MBA admissions, and earned market respect with almost 100% record for getting clients into top global MBA programs.
Importantly, he also gave many of these MBA applicants critical MBA program survival tools through his case study based open classes in strategy, finance and marketing, all of which were/are modeled on similar curriculum/materials/learning environment that can be found in top MBA programs like Harvard, Stanford, MIT, London Business School and so on.
Now, with the widespread dissemination of information through the Internet and other means of communication, this individual consulting business has gone through epoch-making change, and CICOM moved out of this business a long time ago.
However, Denscombe Corporation has remained committed to the individual consulting business, and supports qualified individuals to help them achieve their management related career dreams, through MBA studies or other learning options through Denscombe Corporation itself.

How do we add value?
Our CEO does most of the individual consulting himself – to provide great value-added service – and, because of his time constraints given the other activities that he is committed to, will partner with a limited number of business professionals every year.
Having said this, we are very motivated to help individuals, and really enjoy the close personal nature of one2one consulting. That’s why we also do a lot of Japan market-entry business plan mentoring in Waseda University’s School of Commerce Executive Training Programme.
On the other hand, Denscombe Corporation offers a lot more than just MBA admissions support to individual clients.
