CEO message
We at denscombe.co.jp have had a many year career experience in capital markets (New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London and Tokyo)and the financial sector, with our CEO starting at a New York bank (Bankers Trust Company) after his MBA, at the dawn of the deregulation era in the US capital markets. Having been in “the right place at the right time”, he was able to participate in every way imaginable in the financial sector evolution, and quickly gained a wealth of experience both as a financial intermediary and also as a principal controlling the investment/operating decisions of real businesses (not just as a Wall Street financial engineer, although he gained some respect from his capital market peers by being awarded many industry honors such as “Deal of The Year Awards” from industry media like “Institutional Investor Magazine”).
He also was able to have a successful investment banking career at Bank of America, where he moved the firms’ West Coast (USA) securities business from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and was the Los Angeles securities business branch manager/managing director, where he accomplished a number of industry “firsts”. However, seeking to add value to business organizations through positive change and wanting to be more independent in the decision-making process, he gave up his career in Bank of America ten years after his MBA, and formed his own entrepreneurial boutique financial services firm in New York, “Denscombe & Co., Inc.”
As President/CEO of Denscombe & Co, he engaged in a wide range of corporate restructuring, investment banking and related financial advisory activities, always with the idea of seeking enhanced value through positive change reflecting new circumstances. As an experienced but flexible capital markets generalist, he has provided clients with general corporate finance advice, helped restructure troubled real estate, acted as a principal in corporate turnarounds, advised clients on M&A, and raised venture capital for corporate start-ups. Denscombe & Co has mainly focused on small- to mid-sized companies and individual clients (with net worth $100 million plus).

Capital markets advisory and M&A, and investor alliances/strategic tie-ups
Advising company clients about capital market funding, recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, investor alliances and strategic business tie-ups
Growing sustainable corporate value through more than financial engineering
Today, through the follow-on company – Denscombe Corporation – our CEO has expanded his business activities in various ways and has also become an established business educator in Japan. Nevertheless, while this newer company is not focused only on capital markets and financial services activities, his other business activities like strategic management consulting and challenging organizational change are very closely inter-connected to his capital markets activities. In advising corporate clients about restructurings and/or downsizings, or about strategic investor networks in Japan, it is of course very helpful to additionally have experience and capabilities on both sides – both as management consultant and as a capital markets generalist. These combined things, together with long proven track record of getting the job done, are what separate Denscombe Corporation from an industry crowded with consultants and financial services professionals!
